This notice explains what personal information Lilavena collects through this website, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Contact and partnership messages: your name, email address, optional organization, the topic you choose and your message.
- Volunteer and employment interest: your name, email, optional phone number, general location, areas of interest, skills, availability and message.
- Newsletter: your email address and the date you subscribed.
- Donations: payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout page. We never see or store your card or bank details. Stripe shares with us your name, email address, the amount and date of your gift, and its payment status, so that we can record and acknowledge it.
We do not ask for information we do not need. Please do not send sensitive information such as health details or identification numbers through our forms.
How we use it
To reply to you, to consider you for volunteer or paid opportunities, to send newsletters you asked for, to record and acknowledge donations, and to keep accurate financial records. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Only authorized Lilavena administrators, through a password-protected area of this website. Our service providers process data on our behalf: our website host, Stripe for payments, and our email provider for sending messages. We publish fundraising totals, never individual donors’ names or amounts without permission.
Security and spam protection
Forms are sent over an encrypted connection. To block automated spam we check how a form was submitted and keep a scrambled code derived from your network address, not the address itself.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets one cookie, and only for administrators who sign in. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this notice first.
How long we keep it
Messages and applications are kept for as long as they are useful for the purpose you sent them, and reviewed at least once a year for deletion. Donation records are kept as long as required for financial and legal record-keeping.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any letter. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to hello@lilavena.org.
