Support the first site

To secure and prepare Lilavena’s first site in Central Florida: land due diligence and access, soil and water testing, site preparation, first plantings, essential infrastructure, and the costs of establishing the organization that will steward it.

Online giving opens soon

Before Lilavena accepts contributions, we are completing our registration with the State of Florida and setting up secure payment processing. We would rather open giving a little later than open it improperly.

Subscribe below and we will tell you the day it opens. If you are considering a gift of land, equipment, services or a larger contribution, we would be glad to talk now.

What contributions help fund

Gifts are unrestricted unless we agree otherwise with you in writing. They go where the first site most needs them, which includes the real costs of building and running the organization behind it.

Land
Finding, evaluating and securing land, including surveys, title work and due diligence.
Soil and water
Testing, site preparation and ecological planning before anything is planted.
Plants and supplies
Seeds, starts, trees, compost and growing supplies.
Infrastructure
Irrigation, water access, fencing, storage and shade.
Tools and safety
Hand tools, equipment and protective gear.
Growing and distribution
Producing food and flowers and getting them to families and partners.
Paid work
Wages for women who cultivate, harvest, teach and manage the site.
Community and schools
Food initiatives and school partnerships.
Running the organization
Legal formation, insurance, accounting, fundraising, this website and administration.

We describe what gifts can help toward, not what a specific amount buys. When we have verified costs from a working site, we will publish them.

Before you give

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Lilavena has not yet received recognition of tax-exempt status. Contributions are not currently tax-deductible. We will update this statement as soon as our status is confirmed.

What is Lilavena’s status?

Lilavena is a philanthropic initiative in development, working toward an appropriate nonprofit structure.

How are payments processed?

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe charges a processing fee on each payment, which is deducted before funds reach Lilavena. You can choose to add an amount to cover it.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. Stripe emails a receipt as soon as your payment is confirmed. Monthly donors receive one for each payment.

Can I cancel a monthly gift?

Yes, at any time. Write to hello@lilavena.org and we will cancel it promptly.

Will my name be published?

No. We publish totals only, never donor names or amounts without permission. See our donation policy.

Larger gifts, land and in-kind support

Gifts of land, equipment, materials or professional services, and larger or multi-year commitments, deserve a conversation. Contact us
