Our status
Lilavena is a philanthropic initiative in development, working toward an appropriate nonprofit structure. Lilavena has not yet received recognition of tax-exempt status. Contributions are not currently tax-deductible. We will update this statement as soon as our status is confirmed.
How gifts are used
Unless you choose otherwise in writing and we agree, gifts are unrestricted. They support the purpose of the current campaign and the costs of establishing and operating Lilavena, including land due diligence and acquisition, site preparation, agricultural supplies, infrastructure, paid work, community programs, insurance, administration, fundraising and this website. We do not promise that every dollar goes to a single item, because the organization has to function for any of its work to happen.
Processing fees
Online gifts are processed by Stripe, which deducts a fee before funds reach us. You may choose to add an amount to your gift to cover it.
Monthly gifts
Monthly gifts continue until you cancel. To cancel or change a monthly gift, write to hello@lilavena.org and we will act on it promptly.
Refunds
If you made a gift in error, contact us within 30 days at hello@lilavena.org. We will review each request and refund gifts made in error where we can. Refunded gifts are removed from our published totals.
Acknowledgments and privacy
You will receive a payment receipt by email from Stripe. We do not publish donors’ names or gift amounts without permission, and we do not sell or share donor information.
Larger and in-kind gifts
For gifts of land, equipment, materials, professional services or larger contributions, please contact us so we can discuss how the gift would be used and recorded.
